Psalm 37:5 – Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
In Part-10 I have been talking about our commitment to God. It has to be emphasised, that a committed Life is one of Trust in Him. A real committed Christian operates on the basis of his love for the Lord. His work is compelled by love and his way is controlled by God.He has learnt how to give his life totally to God and trust Him for it. He is happy to do what Jesus leads him to do.
Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward (Hebrews 10:35).
When there is no commitment our confidence in God starts becoming shaky. Lack of confidence in turn makes us lose faith. Now the devil has an upper hand on us because our faith is short circuited. Surely, the devil can be overcome by submitting ourselves to God, by resisting him, by confessing God’s written Word, by commanding him to get away from us. God promises us all this if we submit ourselves to Him and the devil has no choice but to obey our command through the power of Christ Jesus. Remember, “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us” Philippians 4:13
God wants to bless us in all areas of our lives. If we become aware of an area of our lives (an attitude or an action) that is displeasing to the Lord, even though we are walking with Him and sincerely desiring to serve Him, simply thank Him that He has forgiven our sins on the basis of Christ’s death on the cross. Claim His love and forgiveness by faith and continue to have fellowship with Him. By faith we can continue to experience God’s love and forgiveness.
He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver – Malachi 3:3
Once we commit ourselves to God, He will build our character through our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, He will permit adversities to come in our lives. God wants the oil of gladness and the wine of joy in our character. He wants that which will sustain and give us strength. Are you having problems? These are not obstacles; they are opportunities. They are things that God has engineered to build character into our lives. Praise God!
Through all the tribulations we must keep our trust in God. Agitation dilutes our trust. We open the door to fear when we lean on our own understanding instead of what the Word says. Do we trust God with all our heart or only in some areas?
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING
