All Things Work Together Part – 2

Romans 8:28 —– And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

When we follow God’s instructions, the enemy on the other side will try to get us focused on the problem. Our true enemy is the devil, who tempts us and desires our destruction. He hates God and all those who follow Jesus. There is nothing he desires more than to get us to listen to the lies he whispers to us.

He wins over our heart through fear and discouragement. This is why one of the most popular themes in the Bible is to have no fear. Faith and hope cast out fear because we rest in the truth of Jesus, not in the lies of the devil.

John 14:27 —- Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We had a growth retreat and were fasting. That evening we were going to break the fast. Someone called up and told us not to prepare anything because they would get the snacks for the evening. Therefore, we waited and the snacks were just a piece of cake and a small pastry. So I ran to the kitchen and asked the chef what food could be cooked in fifteen minutes. He said he could make Chilli Pakora in that amount of time.

In great haste, he threw in the ingredients without measuring and the pakoras turned out so delicious that people helped themselves to second and third helpings. God reminded me of the scripture in Romans 8:28.

I was focusing on the large amount of salt the chef put into the dish, wondering if it will be too salty. However, taking into account all the other ingredients the salt was perfect. Eating each ingredient separately would not give us the same taste as mixing all the ingredients together. Without cooking those individual ingredients together, they would not become tasty.

When we are going through a storm all that we are going through is nothing compared to God’s goodness for all that He has done for us. You may be feeling weary and completely overwhelmed but the Bible tells us that God is close to the broken-hearted and He is near to us in our pain.   He does not abandon us when our situation is bleak.  As we lift up our fears to Him in thankfulness and prayer, He allows His power to be unleashed in our life. He takes our struggle and makes it work into His perfect plan for us. God knows our weaknesses and has seen our failures yet His power is more than enough to take us safely through.

You may be wounded but you will never be destroyed
