All Things Work Together Part – 8

Ephesians 3:20—— Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.

Imagine yourself in a violent storm out at sea. The waves are monstrous and the boat you are in is rocking perilously! The wind and the waves are whipping the boat around as though it were made out of paper and it takes all of your strength to hold on and keep from being washed overboard! You feel bruised and battered and wonder if you will be able to survive!

The spiritual and mental storms which we have to face at times in our lives can be just as brutal and devastating! This is when we need to have faith on the only one who can give us this assurance – Jesus Christ!

Jesus was and is love! The more we develop the character of Jesus we develop the character of love. When we are going through storms in our life, if we are able to operate in love, we develop the nature and character of Jesus. The quicker we operate in love; the sooner will be our promotion in life.

Our storm is no problem for God; He can silence it with a word if He so desires so we need not fear. Jesus may, however, desire to allow the storm to rage in our life.  When He does this, know that He is well able to protect you in the midst of the storm.

Not all fear is wrong. Some fear is useful because it leads us to take prudent caution for our safety. But excessive fear is wrong because it causes us to panic so that we are not thinking carefully in the light of God’s promises. If we are so focussed on the problem that we cannot see God’s control over it, then we do not trust Him.

In my life, before I lost everything there were many opportunities for me to change but I did not. I continued living life just the way I pleased until a day came when I lost everything. God gave me many opportunities to change but being a stubborn and hard nut to crack, I refused to change.

For example, smoking and drinking are dangerous for our health, and irrespective of the consequences, a person who is addicted will continue to do so. Ultimately when the person gets sick, if he/she does not change their lifestyle and stop smoking and drinking, the end result will be sickness, pain, hospitalisation, medications, and so many restrictions in their lifestyle.

Daniel was an amazing man who was extremely in love with God but he too went through a storm. He was thrown into the lion’s den but trusted God and faced the lions. Those who plotted against him ended up being the lion’s food(Daniel 6:16).

When we trust in God nothing evil can touch us because He who is in us is able to protect you. It was the storm that Jesus taught the disciples to trust His character!

We may walk away from God, but God will never leave us nor forsake us.
