Titus 2:14 – He who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Many of us are living defeated lives, because we are hanging onto our pasts. We see our sins more than we see the solution to our sins and that is the blood of Jesus! We spend more of our time dwelling on our sins, then dwelling on what Jesus has done for us!
Proverbs 28:13 – He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Our God is a God who is ready to forgive and cancel every sin we have ever committed. Every sinner has a great future because our God never consults our past when He bestows upon us a future. When we repent for our sins, and make a decision to commit them no more, God will wipe out every trace of them and set us free. Now we are the “adopted children of God”. We can rightfully proclaim to the world that God has forgiven, blessed and changed our life. When we release these words from our mouth, now it is the Spirit of God in us that is calling other sinners to receive God’s forgiveness.
Matthew 13:44 – The kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
When I accepted Jesus as my Lord, God and Savior, I had the priceless treasure on earth. I was filled with great joy and peace even though I had lost all my worldly possessions to the temptations of the devil. Life was far from being easy, but Praise be to God, I received the Word, I spoke the Word, I lived by the Word. The pressure kept increasing but the power of the Word and the faith in the Word caused me to progress in the right direction.
1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
The devil kept whispering to me about my bleak future, but the Word of God promised me a bright future. I chose to believe the Word of God. I focused only on the Word of God. At that time I was conducting a Bible class. I had only 5 students. They thought I was an expert in the Bible, and their expectations of me caused me to further study the Bible. I was actually helping myself more than I was being a teacher to them. When God saw my single minded intention to preach the Word of God, He increased my ability and capability, and made me an Ambassador of Christ.
The devil is no gentleman, shameless and scheming, and he refused to stop tormenting me about my bleak future. But I was dancing with joy because I knew that heaven is my eternal home. I knew that as an Ambassador for Christ, he had no more power over me. I am truly and eternally free, thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ and His cross.
