Bless the Lord, O My Soul Part – 3

Psalms 103: 1 -2 —– Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.

God is the great “I AM”, and Satan is the great “I AM NOT”! Satan tries his very best to keep us from praising and thanking God.

Praising God results in two outcomes:
1) God is given due worship.
2) Our hearts are lifted from despair and discouragement.

If you think for a moment that you are exempt from praising God, think again. If you are breathing, you are to praise the Lord. And praise is not just a once a day or once a week activity. We are to praise God always and in every way throughout our day.

God wants us to give thanks even in the difficult times because it is an act of faith. When things are tough it takes faith to thank God for our circumstances. We must really believe that God has a plan we do not see. We must really believe that His wisdom is beyond our own. Giving thanks in difficult times requires something more than superficial faith.

God wants us to give thanks in the difficult times because He wants us to learn to walk by faith and not by sight. We can’t always understand what happens in life. If we depend on our senses, life will be like a roller coaster. If we learn to depend on God, life will be steady. We can know peace even in the confusing times.

Psalms 103:3 —– Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.

God forgives all of our sins and all our diseases. The God who created the human body is able, consistent with His own purpose. None of us would survive infancy were it not for the amazing providential healing process that has been divinely designed and incorporated into the fabric of the human system. The immune system, the phenomenon of antibodies, the mending process, etc., are all remarkable beyond our ability to express.
God has created us in His likeness and image but we have the sin nature in our mind (soul). When we are baptised (born again) the change takes place in our spirit, however, our mind remains corrupt. We need to constantly renew our mind with God’s Word and bring it into obedience and agreement with God’s Word. The battlefield is in our mind and praising and thanking God daily, irrespective of our situation is a good way to renew our mind.

You may not understand today or tomorrow, but eventually, God will REVEAL why you went through everything you did.
