Ephesians3: 17 – 19 —– that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Jesus did not force people to listen to Him. Some listened and obeyed but a vast majority of the people rejected Him. We still reject Him today when we sin, but He does not judge us. He does not threaten us into obeying His Word.
When we decide to have a personal relationship with Jesus and give him our heart, we receive His love. When we receive the love of God, we imitate Christ and pour that same love into the hearts of others. This is not our human love but God kind of unconditional love. Whether you like me or not, I still continue to pour love into you. This is what Jesus did for so many years, waiting for us until we changed our lives and followed Him.
When I was young and my Grandmother visited and stayed with, she had a particular way of doing things. She ate from a particular glass, plate and spoon. She preferred to sleep on the same bed sheets and pillow and so on. She liked to do things in a particular way. At that young age and with my head full of mischief, I would make it a point of switching her things to confuse her. Thus we would always end up fighting. Both of us were stubborn with her refusing to see my childishness and me refusing to respect her need for repetition in her life. Finally, my mother would be forced to act as the peacemaker between the two of us but this always ended in me getting a beating. If we both had to compromise, there would not be any fight.
We have many opportunities throughout the day to pour love into the next person. , We have to give our time, our strength, our knowledge to the other without holding back. The love within us that comes from God is capable of destroying the power of Satan working in that person. Satan cannot stand love; he can only cause disunity and bitterness to further his agenda.
Love can save souls – How much love do we receive every day? How much are we willing to give every day?
LIFE IS TOO SHORT, THE WORLD IS TOO BIG AND GOD’S LOVE IS TOO GREAT TO LIVE ORDINARY.
