Facing the Giants of Life Part – 7

John15:22 —– But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

The world hates Christ because it does not know the One who sent Christ.  “To know” here has the meaning “to have an intimate relationship with someone,” “to have an affinity with someone or something,” “to have a love for someone.”

The world by nature does not have such a relationship with God; on the contrary, mankind by nature is in a state of enmity against God. Mankind by nature is under the dominion of the devil.

When we live for Christ there will always be warfare and opposition. When we carry His Word and preach His Gospel there is so much of joy. Where the blood of a martyr is shed for Christ there darkness is destroyed.

John 15: 22 ——  If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.

We all tend to make excuses. Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent. But God had given them clear instructions. When He reveals His will to us, we have no excuse for disobeying.
When Jesus spoke the truth He also confirmed what He spoke with signs and wonders. He was not only speaking but confirming what He preached. Those miracles could not happen without God’s anointing and power. The Pharisees despite seeing these signs and wonders, harden their heart and refuse to believe the teachings.

A person with a stony heart is a person who sees God’s powers yet refuses to believe. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened even though he saw the plagues. He hardened his heart and did not believe God. When Jesus performed mighty wonders and miracles, the Pharisees followed Him not to learn from Him but to trap Him.

Before Jesus spoke, the Pharisees could excuse themselves saying they were ignorant but now after hearing Jesus speak they know what is wrong and right and have no excuse for rebelling against the teachings. Now they have no ‘cloak’ or excuse for their sin.

God will not accept man’s flimsy, feeble, sorry excuses. Let us get busy in doing the will of God rather than relying on lamebrain excuses.

We can’t obey God until we first LISTEN to His WORD.
