Fixing Your Heart Part – 10

Let’s take an example of Jesus how he fought the battle by preparing his heart,

Isaiah 50:5-6

The Lord God has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious , Not did I turn away back I gave My back to those who stuck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

Now this prophecy was given to Isaiah, this is what the messiah would go through and how he would suffer to save his people. This talks about Jesus’ suffering on the cross.

Isaiah 50:7

“For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

Before Jesus could go on the cross, in the garden of Gethsemane there was a war in his mind the Word of God says His face was like a flint. Jesus knew the suffering and the trouble he had to go through. In the garden Jesus was preparing himself, when the time came His face is like a flint even though how much opposition comes the stone will not break or change colour.

According to God’s Word in Isaiah 50 the beard that Jesus had was plucked, you can imagine what the pain would be that Jesus was experiencing. looking at all this Jesus prepared His face like flint, he prepared His heart. Jesus began to ask His father to take the cup of suffering from Him, because he knew He would be separated from His father. He knew he would take the sin, sickness disease of the whole world in His body. The thought that He would be separating from His father would be very painful for Him. Jesus began to pray but He understood it was His Father’s will for him to go through all the torture, that was the time He set His face like flint. He fixed His heart on the Father, if that’s His will, it is settled, that’s called fixing your heart. That’s why Jesus won the battle, He went through the whole journey, fixing His heart on God.
