“Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Where is our focus when adversaries come our way? If it is on Jesus, we rejoice. Our prayer will be of joy, will ask God to deliver those who oppose us rather than curses coming out of our month. When we are in Christ and we do what the Bible says, we are now a threat to the devil. That is why we face opposition when following Gods Word.
While rejoicing we prove to God that we trust Him, we are not focused on what people do to us but what God has done for us. Our focus is not on circumstances but on what God has done for us, this is now an opportunity to love and forgive those who come against us. The more we practise Agape Love, the more we are filled with joy and peace and we see God’s manifestation in our life.
Let us think about it, when someone does something wrong to us do we act on the Word of God or react negatively. Do we get hurt, do we rebel or do we focus on what Jesus has done and become quick to forgive and love. Until we learn to focus on Jesus we will never be able to experience that joy and peace that comes through Him. Those who focus on their situations are chained but those who focus on Jesus and rejoice move forward and fly like eagles.
