so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to everyone else that my imprisonment is for Christ; and most of the brothers and sisters, having been made confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, dare to speak the word with greater boldness and without fear.
The brothers became confident because they could see Paul rejoicing in prison. The souls won for the kingdom were much greater than the suffering; therefore they were much bolder to speak Gods Word. Saint Paul was able to win more souls in his suffering by preaching in a place he had not reached before while strengthening his brothers to go out and preach to other. The Christmas season is about giving Jesus to others.
Saint Paul was bold and courageous through his problems, this scripture will you give joy all the time.
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
When God is our partner we need not worry about anything but do we submit to His Word? When we follow God, the scripture says all things will work together for good. By focusing on the negative things we are not focusing on the goodness in life God has given us but on what the evil one says. Do we take the goodness of God when something bad comes or do we just focus on that? As long as we follow God, we develop things we did not know before, our situation will work together for good. God uses the negative things in our life to transform us and make us better people.
If Joseph did not go through the trials he would not have become a successful governor, if Moses had not gone through the desert he would not have been able to lead God’s people to the promise land. If we are going through unjust suffering, we are being trained for something better.
