Living a Fearless Life Part – 6

2 Timothy 1:7 — For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear is not just an emotion, it is a spirit.  Fear is a spirit and it makes us think on things that are contradictory to God’s Word, things that are negative, that are destructive. Before fear can enter into a person’s mind, a notice is issued through our senses which are contrary to what Gods says. When we refuse to listen to fear, but continue in God’s Word, we are walking in victory.

God is not a punishing God, but a loving God ever willing and longing to bring His plans into our life. But this can only happen if we will follow and obey His Word. Our God is a good God and as such only good things come from Him.

2 Chronicles 20:15 — ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Look at David and his battle with Goliath the giant. Even though David was a young lad, he did beat the 10 foot giant Goliath.

It must have taken a lot of courage on David’s part to go out against Goliath, but I’m sure he wouldn’t have been able to do anything if he didn’t have a very strong belief in God. David must have also been very confident that God would keep His Word to help the people of Israel

Joshua and the Israelites marched around Jericho once a day for six days and on the seventh day the walls fell down flat. Joshua followed God’s plan with faith and confidence even though he could not understand how shouting could bring down such strong walls. (Joshua 6:20).

All the great heroes in the Bible, during the day of battle, stood firm, believing in the love of God and in their relationship with God. Even though, in the physical realm, it looked like they had lost the battle, yet their relationship and faith in God brought them victory.

In our daily life, our mind is under constant attack from the forces of darkness. We feel fear and anxiety.

The devil tells us: “You are a failure! You are finished!”
God’s Word tells us: “What failure? The blood of Jesus has washed away every failure and every fear!”

It is essential to arm ourselves with God’s truth to overcome every fear. The truth of God’s Word in us will cause fear to flee. The devil can never defeat a person who has no fear. Take the battle seriously because your enemy takes it seriously. We should be influenced by the Spirit of God in every area of our life.

Being pious is not squeezing one’s eyes shut to the world and putting on a sweet little angel face – Pope Francis
