2 Corinthians 10:4-5 —— For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
How does a person set themselves free from this stronghold of offence?
God has given us spiritual weapons to counter the tactics of the Devil. The weapons of spiritual warfare are “The Word of God”, “faith”, “prayer”, “the name of Jesus”, “the blood of Jesus”, and “the word of our testimony”, “praise” and so on. We have nothing to fear from the Devil or his forces because JESUS is WITH us! In fact, WE have POWER over all the devils of Hell, including Satan himself!
God’s Word tells us in 1John4:4 — “Greater is He (JESUS) that is in YOU, then he (the Devil) that is in the World!” And this Word of God is Living and active.
Luke 6:38 —— Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
If we want to receive from the Lord, we need to be willing to sacrifice. The Lord wants to overflow our life with His blessings, and those blessings correspond to our own generosity—in fact, they’re triggered by it. Our giving is a direct route to the abundant blessings of God in our life.
There is a comforting reassurance in Christ’s illustration. Regardless of how much we give, we can’t out give the Lord. We give and He is always faithful to give back more.
Greedily storing up wealth and resources limits their usefulness to our own selfish purposes. It is far better to surrender them to the purposes of God and reap the tremendous blessings of being part of what He’s accomplishing in the lives of His people.
If we’re going to store up treasure, we ought to store it “in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys” (Luke12:33). Give generously, and count on the Lord to be generous with you.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE RICH TO BE GENEROUS.
