To find encouragement in God’s Word we must start meditating on it, speaking it, believing it and acting it. It may look like total defeat but we will be strengthened.
1 Samuel 30:7-8 —— Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”
And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
Once we are strengthened by the Word of God, we need to pursue this Word and what the Word promises us. We need to go after these promises with total commitment by focussing on the Word at all times. If the devil has stolen your peace, joy, your children’s future or your marriage or anything else and you have decided to recover this from the devil, you must be strengthened in God’s Word and pursue it by holding on to God’s promises.
David did as God instructed and recovered everything. If David had failed to obey God’s Word to pursue, he would never have overtaken his enemy and recovered all that was lost. God has made promises to us that are in His Word. He wants us to receive His promises in our lives. However, we cannot receive them without pursuing them with faith.
Mark 4:14 —- The sower sows the word.
When a farmer sows a seed he knows the kind of harvest he can expect. But to get the harvest, he first needs to plant the seeds. The same goes for us too. The Word of God or the promises of God are the seed. We need to plant this seed in our hearts.
How do we plant this seed in our heart? By reading it, meditating on it, speaking it, believing it and acting as if it has already manifested in our life.
If the plant is taken care of it will definitely produce abundant fruit. This happens because the harvest is already programmed in the DNA of the seed. In the same way, the manifestations of God’s promises in our life depend on how readily we believe in that Promise! Like the farmer who sows rice grain to expect a harvest of rice, we are also farmers who plant spiritual seeds to get spiritual harvests.
If we want our lives to have an abundant harvest spilling over with ripe fruit, we need to rip out the old roots and weeds and plant God’s seeds. Then, we will see a bumper crop at harvest time.
PRAY, AND THEN LET IT GO. DON’T TRY AND MANIPULATE OR FORCE THE OUTCOME. JUST TRUST GOD TO OPEN THE RIGHT DOORS AT THE RIGHT TIME.
