Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
God is saying here to surrender ourselves to Him and wait on Him, do not be associated with an evil doer. Maybe at the start the evil doer looks successful but the end result is always destruction. Let us surrender our will, our wants and our plans to Gods mighty purposes, it is always going to be challenging.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
We find Mary kept God’s will in her heart and pondered on it. Most of time do we meditate on problems or Gods Word? Mary treasured Gods Word in her heart and thought about them often, from a human perspective her life was about to turn upside down. It would become a huge struggle because of peoples talk about her pregnancy but also because Jesus was going to be sacrificed for His people.
Even as a mother who wanted the best for her son whatever she expected from a son, which is to live a long, prosperous life, Jesus’ life would result in pain and uncomfort. Imagine raising up the child knowing that he will grow up to be sacrifice for all people. It is not easy yet she treasured this in her heart and submitted to Gods Will. Jesus death is not normal but a torturous death, it is not easy for a mother to go through all this yet she was always focused on God and surrendered to Him.
No matter how much as a mother Mary desired her son to have the best and live a long healthy life with little pain and lots of success, she knew he came to die. He would pay for the sins of the world in the most painful way, yet she treasured these facts.
