Jeremiah 29: 11 – 13 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
It’s very easy when thinking about God’s plan for our lives to have the attitude: “it’s all about me.” Yes, it’s true that God cares about every intricate detail in our lives. In fact, Jesus said that even the hair on our heads are numbered.
We can also mistakenly think that God’s plan is always going to be a “feel good” plan with the intent to make us happy. But God wants us to know that His plans are not just to benefit us personally. He wants us to know that as we submit to His plan, He desires to use us to bless the world around us.
We may be in a situation in our life which is not very comfortable or in a situation that we would not have asked God to put us. Yet despite this discomfort we must remember that God has not forgotten us and He still has a plan for our lives.
It’s like God is saying, “Trust me, I have everything under control. I know your situation stinks, but I know what I’m doing. I have your best interest in mind.”
The key still remains during both good and difficult times: You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
The word “seek” means to search. When we delight in the Lord, we will seek more of His Word. When we seek the Word, we will find it brings peace to our mind and response to the queries we put to God.
Most people allocate a certain time of the day, but when we are hungry for God we are constantly seeking Him. The Scripture says we must “seek God with all our heart”; not just as a part-time commitment.
We have to seek God to be able to find out His plan for our life. God’s perfect will is worth finding. Supernatural peace and joy come when we are in the centre of His will. And God’s blessing and anointing will always be on our work when we are doing what He has called us to do!
The lies of this world, though they may sound good, will never get us there. But obedience to God’s Word will.
